Xi Jinping Meets with President Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia

On November 18 local time, President Xi Jinping met in Manila, the Philippines with President Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia.
Xi Jinping pointed out that China attaches great importance to developing China-Columbia relations, and stands ready to, together with Columbia, take the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as a new starting point to push bilateral relations to a new high. Both sides should intensify exchanges at high level and other various levels, boost political mutual trust, fully play the role of complementary advantages, beef up industrial connection and actively expand bilateral cooperation in finance, infrastructure construction, manufacturing, new energy, agriculture and other sectors. China encourages Chinese enterprises to invest in Columbia. China is ready to, together with Columbia, tap the trade potential, forge new growth points and maintain the sound growth momentum of bilateral trade. Both countries should boost people-to-people exchanges in culture, education, tourism, local affairs and others, so as to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. China is gratified with the great progress achieved by Columbia in its peace process.
